‘I recently brought our 15 year old daughter along for treatment, she had been very angry and disruptive at home and we were worried that it was more than just the teenage years. She responded so well to craniosacral therapy and has been so much calmer since’.  Anonymous

Deirdre had developed problems with her jaw and complained of neck pain, she was diagnosed with TMJ and we considered a splint but regular sessions with Avril have completely settled the problem. (Mum of Deirdre, 12 years).

Our son was in his junior cert year, he had always had difficulty with concentration and had been diagnosed with ADD. The treatment helped him with his concentration and we also noticed improved mood and less irritibility.  He has really benefitted and we will have treatment monthly until the exams are over. (Mary, Dalkey).

We have a ten year old who has always been quite sensitive, she describes her head as being ‘busy’, she often becomes anxious over quite small matters. Craniosacral therapy at the clinic has been so helpful for her, she says her head is quieter and she appears to cope better with the rough and tumble of school. Avril also did some CBT exercises with her which were also really helpful.  (Angela and Tom)

It is a therapy which enhances the body’s own healing abilities. CST in its essence involves gentle manipulations as the therapist both tests for restrictions and “listens” to the quality of the craniosacral rhythm, which the body regulates and maintains in order to feed and nurture our delicate nervous tissues. The forces used are exceedingly light and although the focus is in and around the head and spinal column, the treatment may be applied anywhere on the body.

CST clears restrictions in the fascial tissues of the body. These are the soft tissue layers that are continuous throughout the whole body and envelop every organ, muscle and bone down to the individual cells. As a light, hands-on approach, CST harmonizes with the body’s natural hydraulic forces and movements, thus encouraging and enhancing the body’s inherent natural healing abilities. This gentle releasing of chronic tensions within the body can effect major changes in both physical and emotional well-being.
